Lake Como and the river Mera, which flows into it near Sorico, offer various opportunities for boat trips. For this purpose, the campsite also rents out pedal boats, canoes, and kayaks.
One of these is the boat trip to the Cascata del Poncio, which leads to a small waterfall in Lago di Mezzola. Apart from by boat, the waterfall can only be reached via an arduous trail.
The route there leads up the Mera, under the Ponte del Passo, through the Laghetto di Dascio to the Lago di Mezzola. There, the Cascata del Poncio is on the western shore, which is on the left on the way there.
At the Cascata, the stone beach invites you to linger and picnic. A safety rope fastened in the rock allows you to climb the edge of the waterfall.
The route to the Laghetto di Dascio is only permitted with non-motorized boats. Depending on your fitness level and means of transport, the journey takes one to two hours one way.
